Summer has arrived in the UK with sunshine, rain storms, thunderbolt and lightning (very very frightening), drizzle, lightness and brightness, darkening colours and early fruit on trees and bushes.

Summer has also brought laughter along… at corporate events which have seen staff brought together, for many, as the first time since 2019.

A joy to be invited to some of these awesome happenings!

As the summer has now passed solstice and the days once again are no longer at their brightest planning of new growth and maintenance go into its next phase – whether consciously or sub-consciously.

We are all creatures of habit regardless how much we make an effort to rebellion against ourselves and others.

I love the year as it unforlds and know that the planning I have started 2022 with has effectively been in action for a long time now, and next comes the keeping of the momentum, and in what seems long time away, I will be back to drawing board planning for what’s next.

Everyone who has ever come to training or workshops or laughter clubs with me have benefitted from the years we have worked to spread laughter and there is even more to come.

So many changes have happened in only a few months it seems (or has in been years?) and I cannot wait to launch new ideas and plans that will make the future of UnitedMind and Laughter Yoga in the UK even brighter.

We are all uniquely you, me, us, and to change the world with kindness, laughter and joy, we have a common responsibility. In that way everything we do may have the same source but different flavour. We come as non-judgmental teachers, trainers, faciliators, speakers with wisdom that has the potential for positive all-inclusive long-lasting change.

Be present when you are in conversation and you will listen more than you speak. Then you will hear the nuggets that truly make a difference to what you are about to do and who you are about to be.

Greatness comes when you least expect it.

Laughter Yoga with Mind Body Medical Online

In July 2020 when things were rather locked down and online webinars started flourishing I happened upon an online event from Jackie White and decided to jump on it.

When the topic of Ayurveda became clear I was not sure it was really something I would be interested in but Ayurveda Expert Dr Sam Watts shares the ancient practice from his heart and I was so hooked that I booked on a 6-week Introduction to Ayurveda class.

I followed the plan and the food I started eating became an energy source every time. After the programme I stayed with the Ayurvedic Mentor Group as I wanted to learn more and adapt the learning into my life.

What you feed your body affects your mind, and what you feed your mind affects your body. This is one reason Ayurveda and Laughter Yoga go hand in hand.

This leads onto July 2022 where I am so excited and blessed to be running a 7-week Laughter Yoga programme, a combination of recorded and live sessions online with the Ayrvedic Mentorship Group.

Teacher Training for Leaders of Laughter and Life

If you felt inspired to complete the 5-day Laughter Yoga Teacher Training when you first trained as a Laughter Yoga Leader this is a call to you to take inspired action!

Being a Laughter Yoga Teacher is not just a certificate on your wall, neither is Master Trainer. It takes time to become a good teacher and even longer to become a great teacher or master trainer.

Once you complete your own training you start your journey of becoming well-versed in handling rooms full of people with different backgrounds, knowledge, skills, jobs, ideas, and reasons why they should or should not be at the laughter session you present.

To be a teacher is having learned the skills in the field, having experienced the successes and the failures of a room full of people willing or unwilling to join you and everyone else.

Your Laughter Yoga Leaders will come to you, not simply because of your certificate but because you have wisdom to impart in the classroom, you have been where they wish to go and are able to share the ‘what to’ and ‘what not to’, and in the end let your students do their own thing.

Being a teacher comes from your heart and your credibility through facilitating your workshops with groups in person where you cannot escape behind a screen.

And it is awesome!

The journey to become a teacher people want to learn from when you have the passion for your work and do it the best you can at all times, with people in person.

When the little seed of a Laughter Yoga Leader is being fertilised at your first training perhaps it is time to make the jump and become a Laughter Yoga Teacher.

The spark that ignites over 2 days of intensive laughter leader training burns even brighter and bigger after 5 days of laughter tearcher training.

Having said that, you do not need to have a wish to teach others when you become a Laughter Yoga Teacher, however, you will learn skills that will enable to you to share Laughter Yoga on a much deeper level and of course, you will have the option to teach your own network of Laughter Yoga Leader if you ever change your mind.

Too many times in life we stall and never move forward in that touching, moving, and inspiring moment. I have been there many times in the past but since choosing Laughter Yoga as a life line for me and for the world I take action every day.

Happy Yoga

Your life changes when you start breathing properly.

Breath is the most powerful and empowering life force we have the opportunity to experience.

Much too often we breath automatically because that is what our body does, however, the breath does not take your lungs on a full refillment experience into the most impactful journey of gaseous-exchanging with the aim of circulating freshly oxygenated blood to our hole body.

While we live in a world where stress has become the norm our lungs capacity is rarely used, and therefore our lungs contain a large deposit of old, stale air full of toxins.

When you laugh deeply you use your diaphragm for the in-breath and your abdomen for your laughter-exhalation you exchange a larger quantity of the air from deep within thus the quality of your next inhalation becomes greater as there is more space available for the fresh breath.

When you become a Laughter Yoga Teacher you learn additional breating exercises which are not being taught on the 2-day Laughter Yoga Leader Training.

All of the breathing exercises have different quality to them, e.g. energy, focus, balance, calm, refresh, and more.

Since starting my breath practice I have noticed I rarely feel tired after having lunch, which for many people (myself included in the past) was a time of ‘the graveyard shift’ where a nap would be appreciated.

When you eat your body’s main priority becomes the digestion so the freshly oxygenated blood flows to aid the process, and if the breath we take is not going deep and only filling your lungs partly with fresh air, then there is a residual volume, the ‘old’ air that will have to circulate to vital organs and your brain. This can leave you tired and lethargic.

Re-learning to breathe deeply through the practice of Laughter Yoga helps removing old air and filling your body with fresh air instead of circulating the stale air.

A real life-saver!

There are so many more benefits to laughing and I may continue to share them with their little stories and anekdotes as we move further into summer, then autumn and winter, and spring once again.
