February Flow from Yours Truly
A life is a miracle that happened because it was meant to happen.
Are you living the life you want or looking for perfection? How do you know if you have stopped the search?
Life is full of questions and curiosity is what keeps us asking abd searching instead of stalling and settling. My guess is as good – or as bad – as anyone’s guess as to what makes life the best we can live.
When you are surrounded by people who matter in your life, your children, your friends, your family, your darling, your mentors, your tribe of people who will cheer for each other without giving you reasons why not but instead they say ‘why not!’.
And you go for it.
When you stop listening to the voices telling you your are not good enough and your ideas are worthless, then you hear the melodies of support and encouragement.
When those short and sometimes stolen moment with your kinda folk matter regardless how much time passes between those meetings, you are still connected because it was never a chance-meeting in the first place.
When you know that true love is always going to touch, move, and inspire you, even when you were not meant to live the lenght of your lives as one.
When you eat the food you like because it is your life and no journal of dieter is going to tell you otherwise. This is your life and food is good!
When you can have meaningful and hypothetical conversations on deep topics without knowing anything and still make them the best ever discussions for everyone.
When opinions are just something we all have and they are not as important as making up after disagreements, knowing we are still okay no matter how much we didn’t like each other in the argument.
When you know that your life is good even if it is not perfect, because you also know that perfect is just anothor one of those views and opinions when in fact it is perfectly perfect in this moment.
When you can be at peace, sitting by yourself pondering on life as it was, is and maybe will be as well as all of the above – and it really doesn’t matter because you know in that splitsecond that life is as it will be ecactly the way it is meant to be.
The memories, the moments, the menschen then and now are what make us whole and complete.
Being at peace without the constant interference of your inner radio station and other people’s ideas of what is the best option for anyone else except themselves.
All the things you cannot buy because they are already within you make this life the most magical, awesome gift ever.
When you experience being in the flow of life and time then everything is just as it was meant to be even if you feel you are being faced by hardship and challenges.
Go with the flow instead of challenging all there is, it is in the flow we truly listen, to the self and to our people. We hear the call as an authentic and true listener of life.
So this is only my own contemplation on the flow of February and what makes my life the best life I can live – and the list goes on and on.
A life is a miracle that was meant to happen in exactly the way it is happening!
With Love, Friendship, Honesty, Kindness, Health, Hope, Goodness, Grace, Gratitude, Understanding, Faith, Peace, Forgiveness, Patience, Diligence, Love, Blessings and Joy

Second to None Benefits Part 1
The February News is a little different than past months. One reason is that it is late…
But nothing is every really late, it is simply arriving at the perfect time.
All the thoughts that come out of Laughter News are the living benefits of practicing Laughter Yoga every day.
Not only for a week or for 30-40-50 days or even 365 days but for life.
When I had run The Telephone Laughter Club for a month back in 2008 I asked the regular telephone laughers for feedback regarding the benefits they had experienced.
There was a great variation of responses from being able to access their laughter and roll on the floor as they used to at a much younger age, to better mood and imagination, and into clearing long-term constipation.
This brings me on to the topic of benefits – and there are so many!
There is no need to have a reason for laughter and nor does there have to be any justification which essentiallly reasons are. However, we often look for those things that help us explain why we do what we do.
So here is the polished list of benefits that every Laughter Yoga Leader shares in clubs and workshops.
When you laugh…
- you lift your mood and it ripples into your day when you start with laughter creating great energy
- you lower stress and boost your immune system
- you bring fresh oxygen to your body and brain which makes you feel refreshed, alert and motivated
- you are better at creating new and maintaining existing relationships making them fuller and more caring
- you build resilience to cope with life’s ups and downs
What does this then mean?
Almost 20 years of sharing Laughter Yoga, with 14 years of daily laughter, has made me recognise (AND experience) a thing or two about the change that happens when we laugh every day.
You cannot fake your mood without compromising your long-term wellbeing.
Laughter every day is not an alternative to a healthy balance of laughter, tears and other emotions.
When you give yourself permission to feel and experience all you are then you create a balanced being who then become at peace within and without.
The daily laughter practice paves the way for allowing everything that is stored to come forward and be released. This does not mean that you have to live through it all again but simply fast-forwarding release of old energy.
And isn’t that exactly what time has shown us we need to do?
Old energy eats you up and stacks lots of grudges on top of each other until you disconnect from reality with your dramas living their own lives on full capacity.
Old patterns and stored energy also has the potential of creating physical illness.
Practicing Laughter Yoga daily brings your authentic self to the surface where you are willing to be present in life and with other people. Being the truth of who you are.
As well as strengthening your body, mind, emotional self, and spirit.
Over the years I have shared the story of The Telephone Laughter Club, and it is also listed further down this page with a link if you want to have a read, but I wanted to mention it again. I started The Telephone Laughter Club when I had an MS experience and wanted to remove the stress in order to avoid relapses as they occur in MS.
Stress eats away at you, this we know.
Stress inhibits the full functioning of many of our body’s systems, including digestion where many of the disorders in our gut can point back to stress inhibiting our ability to fight illness as our immune system is not operating at full capacity.
When the regular Telephone Laugher experienced constipation clearing up it was a great testament to the amazing benefits of lowering stress thus making your body work again.
Endorphins are released when we laugh and research from 1979 shows that they counterbalance cortisol levels.
Not only endorphins but your biochemistry is triggered big-time when laughing.
In winter or dark months we fall short of producing enough serotonin to keep the mental wellbeing intact, by laughing we trigger the production.
I found this to be a really interesting connection within our body as I discovered through studies I encountered that 80% of serotonin is being produced in the gut.
The same goes for dopamine which creates motivation and drive, 50% is produced in the gut.
Think about this when you laugh. The importance of connecting your whole body with your laughter.
When we laugh our social laughter it often comes from our chest in very short bursts lasting few seconds. In Laughter Yoga we bring lengthy laughter into our body by using the diaphragm for the inhalation and the abdominal muscles for the laughter exhalation.
What a wonderful abs-builder!
I have so many stories to tell about the benefits and I will keep the one about growing an inch taller for next news.
I hope you will enjoy reading about the benefits of practicing Laughter Yoga, and perhaps even consider learning the technique for yourself or your group of people in your community or workplace so you, too, can make positive change count.
