Life can change in a fraction of a moment – and it does.
We lose our loved ones, our country, our identity, our home, and often much more than that in a lifetime.
The losses leave their traces in our minds and hearts.
However, the energies around us are full of light and hope, love and compassion.
The world is becoming more enlightened and informed in every way in each moment passing, and we nurture each other through our daily connection and interaction.
But there is grief and anger, too.
It is when we hold onto grim experiences in the depth of our minds’ energy they cloud judgment and acceptance.
We are all responsible for change and for this moment in time but we also need to accept each individual soul choice even if we do not understand the extent of those choices.
When the heart accepts, then joy will emerge.
Make your time and impact count, be the person who starts the peaceful living, and lets go of the hurt of the past.
Forgiving does not make the wrong right, it simply means setting yourself free of the low energy past experiences may hold you to, and it sets the other party free, too.
Is it really worth your life force energy, even a pinch of it?
No matter what wrong-doing has been pushed onto us, we can only move forward in grace. This life has taught us many things and if nothing else we walk away with heads held high knowing we made a difference where and when it mattered, even on the smallest of scales.
Your heart is the number one place to allow the healing to start.
The place that money and power cannot buy.
With Love, Friendship, Honesty, Kindness, Health, Hope, Goodness, Grace, Gratitude, Understanding, Faith, Peace, Forgiveness, Patience, Diligence, Love, Blessings and Joy
Laughter Yoga Expert and Master Trainer
Second to None Benefits Part 2
Last month I started sharing benefits of laughter and what they really, truly, authentically mean when you live laughter every day.
It is easy to state the obvious benefits as you learn them in your first training.
So here is a recap on the polished list of benefits that every Laughter Yoga Leader announce in clubs and workshops.
When you laugh…
- you lift your mood and it ripples into your day when you start with laughter creating great energy
- you lower stress and boost your immune system
- you bring fresh oxygen to your body and brain which makes you feel refreshed, alert and motivated
- you are better at creating new and maintaining existing relationships making them fuller and more caring
- you build resilience to cope with life’s ups and downs
However, sharing the benefits is a different matter as you become vulnerable in those connecting moments when you speak from one heart to another.
When I had my health MOT, as you do when your age ends in a zero, a nurse came to visit to measure things like blood pressure, weight and height.
I am tall already and when she announced my height was 1.80m I insisted that it was only 1.77 as per my passport.
The nurse measured me 4 times before I decided to accept this new height of my career.
This is in many ways unheard of as with age your tend to shrink and grow smaller, not taller. It reminded med of a children’s book from my childhood where Peter Madsen accidentally fell through the ‘clothes wringing machine’ (old-style spinning for washing, I imagine) and instead of being Little Peter Madsen he became very tall and did not fit anywhere – but that is of course another story.
My only explanation, please be mindful that there is no medical or scientific foundation for this, is that I have been practicing Laughter Yoga as my only exercise form and with this practice I stretch but more importantly I breathe deeply and I exercise my core muscles.
Your core muscles provide you with support and gives you your posture. When you laugh from deep within, as you do in Laughter Yoga, you strengthen this area and your spine gets the support it needs to keep you upright.
This assessment is solely based on my own philosophical thought on the cause of the extra inch and a bit. In any case I am happy that my health is so great that I have grown from it in more than one way.
Another aspect of your deep hearty, belly laugh is that not only do you tone your inner-most muscles, by doing this you also improve your circulation to your vital organs, so instead of being little, shrivelled, exhausted organs, they become plump and juicy from simply getting the right amount of freshly-oxygentated blood flowing to them.
There are many more benefits to laughing and I will continue to share them with their little stories and anekdotes over the coming months.
I hope you will continue to enjoy reading about these extensive benefits of practicing Laughter Yoga, and even consider learning the technique for yourself or your group of people in your community or workplace so you, too, can make positive, live-able change count.

Jackie White, Inspirations Positive Living Group
A few years ago, during first lockdown, I was listening to a Zoom hosted by Jackie White and I have followed her and Inspirations Positive Living Group since then.
Jacking brings sprituality, inspiration, positivitity and love to everyone who attends the sessions and the energy go beyond the hour-long Zooms.
She does exactly what the group name states in a very engaging way.
I am overly thrilled to be sharing Laughter Yoga with Jacking on 22 March at 19:00 on Zoom, and even more excited that Jackie has in fact trained in Laughter Yoga.
Jackie has run ‘Inspirations Positive Living Group’ since April 2013 and the objective of our group is to bring some balance, calm, laughter, joy, harmony, love and peace to what can sometimes appear to be the opposite of that in our world.
Her objective resonates with my own objective, and I hope you will be joining us on 22 March at 7pm UK time. Link will be posted later.
The Corporate Wellbeing Expo 9-10 March 2022
I am truly excited to be joined by Nicky, Evrim, Jannie, and Karen at the event.
You will be able to recognise us in the new UnitedMind colours…
On 9th-10th March 2022
The Business Revival Series at ExCEL in London. You can find UnitedMind and Laughter Yoga in the Corporate Wellness Expo area on Stand 258.
It took over a year to fully grasp the fact that we will be at a corporate business expo with Laughter Yoga, and that I would need somebody to build our stand.
eventFULL has taken by stand from initial concept through to a stand that I feel proud of, and they have supported the design of your exhibition stand with my end goal in mind.
They have been assisting with the layout and setting it all up ready to print, and they will be at the expo to build and remove Stand 158 again.
Meet us on 9-10 March at the London ExCel at the Business Revival Series 2022 Corporate Wellbeing Expo Stand 158!
eventFULL is a great partner for any expo!

OM Sculpture from Julie Whitehead
Julie and I used to teach 2-day Laughter Yoga Leader Training together in London until about 10 years ago
I am so excited that she has now designed a beautiful sculpture that any home can be proud to display, the ultimate OM in my humble opinion.
There is a beautiful story behind the idea to design process, and Julie has given me permission to share it here.
THE STORY OF OM – which in Sanskrit is written AUM
“The longer you wait for something, the more you appreciate it when you finally get it, because anything worth having is definitely worth waiting for.”
Well, patience certainly was a virtue in the wait for the OM Sculpture to come to life! I have always loved OM. Ever since my first yoga class in India in 1978. I loved chanting it – it opened my heart and filled me with Joy. I loved repeatedly drawing it as a meditation which brought me to a calm, quiet, serene place, and I loved learning and understanding more about the symbol AUM which represents our 5 states of conciousness and is important to everyone who practices yoga.
In 2013 for my 60th Birthday I decided I would love to have a large OM sculpture in the garden. After many searches I discovered that there wasn’t anything special enough on the market to symbolise how important OM was to me, and so the Journey of OM Sculptures began.
Time passed by…
It seemed the only solution was to design one myself with the help of my husband Hugh who specialised in geometry and computer modelling, so he started to model the shape that we wanted for our creation. He had to painstakingly learn computer coding to do so. The sculpture needed to inspire, have life, vibrancy, fluidity. OM was modelled in paper, in cardboard and then in aluminium, hand made with tin snips. When our friend Floss suggested putting curves in the sculpture to reflect the light we realised that this was what made it really special and different to any OM we had ever seen.
Time passed by…
Hugh works slowly but thoroughly and we could now view the model of OM from every direction on the computer BUT we still did not have a method for making the physical model. Having thought it could be 3D printed we had to dismiss this, as print lines on OM’s surface would show on the metal. This was not acceptable as the play of light on the curved surfaces was instrumental to the design, which was to make the most beautiful OM that had ever been created – so we had to think again!
Time passed by…
It was in 2016 when I was running a yoga holiday in Turkey that Hugh made the Pressing Tool which meant the metal pieces could be formed to the correct shape. This was an incredible achievement and I’m sure you will agree a beautiful object in itself.
We found a local laser cutting unit and asked them to cut a couple of OMs in stronger aluminium which you can see above, and the next aluminium prototype, with adjustable joints followed in 2017.
More time passed by…
In 2018 we started a building project on our house and OM was left on the shelf! Nothing happened until 2020 when my talented, artistic friend, Tina started working for Northshore Metals. and offered to tackle this as a research project. Hundreds of hours of research and development took place to make OM viable. Methods of welding the surfaces together had to be explored, rejected and started all over again. Once OM has been hand crafted to shape, it goes to another installation to be powder coated, giving it its lustrous finish. Finally, a product we were all happy with was agreed upon, and now, eight years after the original concept can I hold this beautiful sculpture in my hand and feel the joy and delight of seeing our dream realised. OM enhances my life and spiritual practice, it will enrich yours. Now my aim is to share OM with everyone so you can have your own personal OM in your life.
Please contact Julie Whitehead on email@example.com for details and to get yours.
