I was privileged to meet and shares laughter with the wonderful Reverend Richard Coles. We discussed how laughter can be a vessel for release when going through loss even when it may not seem the most obvious choice.
Many times I have felt that people shy away from accessing tears in combination with laughter when going through grief.
For many years I lost my own crying while being in a state of belief that being a Laughter Yoga Professional I needed to show how to laugh even through upsets and grief.
However, many years of continuous studies and life lessons taught me many new skills and gave me many eye-opening experiences that ended in an aha-moment of realisation.
No matter how much you laugh and even pretend to laugh there is no way you can laugh your grief and your tears away. Tears must be cried.
If you cannot find your tears and your deep sobbing, hire someone to cry with, because sobbing is like laughter very infectious and once we give ourselves permissing to open the gates, things get really messy.
Releasing suppressed feelings through tears, then laughter, then tears, then perhaps even rage (as long as it is not taken out on someone else), paves the way for authenticity, more laughter and equilibrium.
When we bottle up things life gets out of balance. Release of these stored moments, we once decided not to express, allows our whole being to start healing.
Then sleep comes and assists us.
Grief must be experienced through all the emotional stages but there is no way the process is the same for everyone, we will take the time and turns we need to in any given life.
Why can it not be generic, the way we all go through a certain grieving process?
We all have different layers of storage and loss can unlock old ‘stuff’ which when processed lets us experience experience all sorts of emotions that are not set out in a linear way described by scholars because they may not even relate to the latest event that is playing out.
In essence what I am trying to say in a not very eloquent way is that all tears must be cried and if we have not cried enough about certain events in our lives then the tears will surface on new occasions. On the other side of tears is laughter and then there is freedom and peace.
Don’t force your laughter when tears are what you need.

Make self-care a priority this World Mental Health Day!
This is your last chance to register for our stress management and laughter yoga webinar to mark World Mental Health Day on Monday 4th October.
We all have a metaphorical stress container and contained within it are all the things that contribute to stress in our everyday lives, things like health, money, relationships and work. We can flourish with all of these elements in our container, but equally if we have too many things going on at the same time this can cause it to spill over.
We will look at the helpful and unhelpful coping methods we use to deal with stress, as well as run through an exercise to identify what is causing us stress and how we can deal with it effectively and build resilience against it.
We end this segment by presenting a list of essential skills to stay on top of stress and then hand you over to Lotte Mikkelsen for the second part of the session, which is guaranteed to make you laugh!

Laughter Yoga World Conference 19-21 November 2021
I received an invitation to be a speaker at the World Conference, and I am excited to have accepted the invitation.
The Laughter Yoga World Conference runs online from 19 to 21 November.
My 20 minutes has the title of “How to apply Laughter Yoga for healing chronic illnesses (through my own journey with MS)” and will be on 20th November 2021.
I promise I will not only talk but also laugh!

Learn Laughter Yoga – life skills for all seasons!
The beginning of any Laughter Yoga Training journey starts the 2-day Laughter Yoga Leader Training.
During the two days you learn to facilitate a laughter club and you get an understanding of the depth of the work we do with Laughter Yoga, including exploring the benefits.
Even if you do not wish to teach Laughter Yoga for many leaders the 5-day Laughter Yoga Teacher Training is a great choice as it adds breadth and width to your skills and knowledge as a facilitator
The five day training is the foundation for becoming a professional provider of Laughter Yoga workshops. However, you must run your Laughter Club in order to learn and become sufficiently skilled in the Laughter Yoga practice.
Once you become a teacher another avenue opens for you.
You have the option of providing one-on-one Laughter Coaching to individual clients.
It is essential to note that Laughter Coaching is not for everyone and to provide a fulfilling programme to individual clients you as Laughter Coach must be comfortabel with your own laughter and running individual Laughter Yoga sessions.
The reward in sharing laughter is outstanding! Whether it is in groups or with one-on-one clients.
Upon completion of Laughter Yoga training with UnitedMind and Laughter Yoga Master Trainer Lotte Mikkelsen you will receive the Laughter Yoga International Laughter Yoga Certificate and be eligible for the UnitedMind accredited training certification.
UnitedMind is registered with our insurance company as a training provider which means that our certificates grant you insurance.
When you choose your training provider please make sure you check their credentials as online training methods and courses are not always covered by insurers.
There are a few more requirements if you want the additional accreditation certificate.
