And just to mention

Combating tiredness and disconnect

Recent polls show that 50% of Brits feel tired to the bone, and that one in five Brits seek medical advice from their GP regarding this constant tiredness.

Being tired can be related to a number of things that all are related and tie together in a vicious circle of stress or in a healthy circle of resourcefulness. Physical activity, mental activity, eating habits, environment and stress, emotional stress, sleep pattern – all of it impacts the sense of feeling rested and ready or feeling tired and lethargic.

The truth is that often ‘circumstances’ are in the hot seat for blame when in fact taking responsibility for whatever goes on can change a lot of stress and make you feel in charge and re-charged. Once the outside factors have been recognised it is so much easier to take action for change. Some situations may not be possible to impact or change but there is always a way of moving forward…

Change perspective and change how you feel, how you see things, and believe that there is always something positive in any situation.

Happiness is key and Institute for Employment Studies looks into this in their article Laughing all the way to the bank.

Laughter Yoga is a resource for creating permanent change coming from within which is important for creating the change that affects the outside world.

When you practice Laughter Yoga every day, e.g. laugh on the telephone in the morning for 10 minutes, or practice breathing and laughter alone exercises, your energy levels get a real boost and you feel elated and ready for any challenge. Your energy connects with your thoughts of what is possible.

Any home and any workplace can benefit from family and staff starting each day with a laugh, alone of together, whether experiencing poor or great health.

Just imagine the energy that gets shared when people laugh together and the added value it gives to the workplace or home, the benefits to the health and wellbeing individually as well as group-wise.

Relaunch of the Online Laughter Club

The Online Laughter Club was launched in 2011 and started up with mojo and enthusiasm. Soon, however, we ran into a few technical challenges and the Online Laughter Club has been quiet for some time.

The club was relaunched on Tuesday 26 May 2015 on Google+ Hangouts and we will be meeting there every Tuesday from 7pm to 7:30pm GMT. Please visit the Online Laughter Club page for details and the hangout link.

This is still a trial to gauge the popularity and if we run out of space we will take it all to the GoToMeeting venue which is already waiting and ready to start. Any changes will be announced!

The Online Laughter Club is a great place to laugh if you haven’t got a Laughter Club nearby. This online community connect us with local and less local people – a great place to share an international space of fun and laughter.

For more information abut the Online Laughter Club, Telephone Laughter Club or other ways of laughing in a Laughter Club, please contact us via email,, or mobile 07736 341 717.

Please note that the Online Laughter Club is a free service whereas The Telephone Laughter Club is a subscription-based service.

Online training is key to professional development

Since 2009 UnitedMind have offered online training and workshops. As training provider within the space of personal and professional development I have found that although laughter is an experience we share in person, the online trainings have proven popular and successful.

When you cannot make it to a venue in London, St. Albans, Durham, Blackpool or elsewhere, because of time issue or other challenges, there is always the option of online training.

People connect through laughter, and although connecting through a webcam with a microphone is not truly in person, it is certainly a solution if you are keen to learn to share laughter and facilitate workshops.

There are different opinions as to whether online training is as good as in-person training, however, with focus and contact, and with a tutor that is committed to the success of the programme together with you, an online laughter training programme can take you just as far as an in-person training. It is all about the people!

To become a Certified Laughter Leader, Laughter Therapist or a Laughter Coach all you need is a total of 12 hours learning which includes 10 hours online training and 2 hours of home study. The online training is scheduled regularly but evenso the dates may not suit you and we can organise individual sessions.

There are even additional and ongoing training to attend online once you complete your certificated course.

The importance of certified laughter training

The recent years have seen a rise in the number of Laughter Therapist, Laughter Facilitators, Laughter Teachers and Leaders. This is exciting and shows a real urge to share laughter and all that laughter represents.

When you decide to learn Laughter Yoga or Laughter Therapy it is important that your teacher is qualified to teach. Certified Laughter Yoga Teachers are a safe bet when it comes to learning from professional teachers but there are people who do not have the level of training and teaching skills, yet run facilitator training courses that enables you to run workshops.

Laughter Yoga Teachers go through a long investment of learning the terminologies as well as the people skills in order to teach a valuable programme that can truly change people’s lives and the way we cope with challenges.

Becoming a teacher does not just happen through receiving a certificate, it is an ever evolving process of sharing the work in laughter workshops and seminars, laughter clubs and events. A Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher also has the background and skills to talk to you about starting your own business or taking laughter into your workplace, community, along with great ideas and experience.

Furthermore, a Laughter Yoga Teacher has qualified on a 5-day programme that qualifies them to teach a 1-day as well as 2-day certified training course in Laughter Yoga, and many have been practicing as a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader for years before becoming a Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher.

UnitedMind support and recommend many of the Laughter Yoga Teachers in the UK! We cover almost all of the country and are happy to travel to your venue to run our trainings.
