Turn & Shoot PhotoIn June I had the wonderful opportunity to laugh with 1,000 happy people at The Festival of Happiness in Manchester.

The happiness festival was not the only magical moment in June as I have been blessed to laugh with adults with learning disabilities, staff in NHS, local communities, carers, townswomen, with health and wellness influencers a beautiful book launch in London, and more outstanding people.

I will share a few of the stories in this newsletter so please keep reading.

The Playing Human Conference in London is for you and for the purpose of creating a playful attitude around the communities and workplaces in the UK.

When we share smiles and laughter at work we become more motivated to perform and productivity increases along with a sense of team spirit which creates a feeling of having a common goal.

For many years the general perception was that to achieve we have to be serious and keep our heads down. However, this view does not inspire innovation, creativity, and a healthy, thriving work environment.

Play is essential for any adult and The Playing Human Conference is the event where you get fired up with ideas on how to improve your life both at work and home.

Meet our Playful Keynotes – they are coming for you! Please watch them to the end.

Come along to this once-in-a-lifetime non-profit event in London, you can book the full 2-day conference or perhaps you can only join us on one of the days. Please contact us regarding Group Discounts and Special Offers,

Community Events that matter and make a difference

In June I worked and laughed with a organisations I often say I work with on a regular basis – if you can call annually ‘regular’ then it is the truth…

When organisations come back for more it is a real testament to the work we do in sharing laughter for the benefits of laughter without the need for jokes and humour.

Crossroads Carers

The Niland Conference Centre 2012

I returned after three years to spend some hours with Crossroads Carers (now excited to be part of Herts Carers) and it was such a special moment to connect with a familiar face.

Life happens, and he is now the last of his little trio who I met first in 2011 when I laughed with Crossroads Carers the first time.

The Niland Conference Centre 2018It was wonderful to hear stories and memories of their time together having their laughs and playing tricks on each other.

Friendship in life and beyond. I work with bereavement groups when the members are ready to move on and not a moment sooner than that. Grief is important and everyone has to be at a point where life goes on without the loved ones. And we laughed in the little room at The Niland Conference Centre making space for recharging life.

Don’t be afraid of laughter and to laugh.

One Hornsey Community Day

Last year I worked with a wonderful organisation where we ran a few Laughter Yoga Workshops. As it was a time-limited project my sponsor, Andrea, moved on to new ventures and contacted me when she was ready with a new community project, inviting me to run a few laughter workshops.

I welcome any chance to share laughter for the goodness and when good people return for more it makes my heart burst with warmth and gratitude in the knowing that there is something in this work for everyone. Running a couple of Laughter Yoga sessions at the One Hornsey Community Day was fun and it was great to be part of a day with such a diverse range of activities to suit anyone.

I even learned to juggle – not overly advanced but enough to keep three balls circulating for at least 3 seconds – AT LEAST.

Thank you for inviting me back to Camden Road in July!

NHS Annual Health Day for Staff

It has been a few years since I spent the day at the Luton & Dunstable NHS Hospital and I was excited to return to laugh with staff at this special day organised by Jackie and her team.

A day full of health and wellbeing ideas and services for staff in a line of work where stress can easily get the better of you. Yet, NHS staff keep going and going and going – no matter what because they have committed to being a service to people.

I believe it is because of workplace events like that staff flourishes and stay motivated, when the workplace makes the individual count through events with focus on YOU then it becomes easier to engage and cultivate a team spirit.

Even with little budget there are still many things that can be done to nurture the people in the workplace who make the workplace a heartwarming success on all levels.

Laughter Yoga has the ultimate goal of creating health and happiness.

Happy people don’t hurt others.
