Smiling is Infectious

Smiling is infectious
You catch it like the flu
When someone smiled at me today
I started smiling too
I walked around the corner
And someone saw me grin
When he smiled I realised
I had passed it on to him
I thought about the smile
And then realised its worth
A single smile like mine
Could travel round the Earth
So if you feel a smile begin
Don't leave it undetected
Let’s start an epidemic
And get the world infected.
Smile a While
Smile a while and while you smile,
smile another smile and soon there
will be miles and miles of smile
just because you smiled,
I wish your day is full of SMILE!
The Dilemma
To laugh is to risk appearing a fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out for another is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk rejection.
To place your dreams before the crowd is to risk ridicule.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To go forward in the face of overwhelming odds is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken
because the greatest hazard in life
is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing,
does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.
He may avoid suffering and sorrow,
but he cannot learn, feel, change, grow or love.
Chained by his certitudes, he is a slave.
He has forfeited his freedom.
Only a person who takes risks is free.

The world is full of poets and many remain anonymous.  The poems above are some of my favourite ones and I hope you will use them freely in your life.

In 2007 I learned the rules of Limerick composition and I would be happy to write one for you - one that is better than rhyming with Laugh...
